About Harter Middle School
We proudly teach all of the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in the district. We are the first place in the district that all of our students come together. At the middle school, students cease to identify themselves with their local grade school communities and become proud Kaneland Knights!
All of our students study science, math, social studies, civics, and have a double block of language arts daily. Additionally, our students all participate in music, art, industrial arts, computer, health, and physical education classes each year. Our 8th grade students are also able to choose courses such as drafting, construction, guitar, ceramics and performing arts among our many elective offerings. Kaneland students have the opportunity to participate in challenge or gifted language arts and advanced mathematics courses as well.
Additionally, middle school students have the opportunity to participate in a full range of after school athletic programs including cross-country, football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, and track. Our drama department produces an excellent fall play and a spring musical.
